Baumit establishes site in Kent to expand global reputation for product and customer service excellence

One of Europe’s most successful building brands, Baumit, has established a full service offering in Aylesford, Kent, resulting in the ready availability of its extensive range of innovative external wall insulation systems.

Founded in 1988, Baumit has expanded from a single base in Austria to a worldwide brand which is operable in more than 30 countries. Its success is built upon the development and delivery of high-performance exterior insulation solutions, façade renders, paints and healthy living solutions.A company that places as much emphasis on outstanding levels of customer service as it does the provision of exemplary building materials is able to offer both qualities at its UK headquarters located in the heart of Kent.

The site, approximately four miles from Maidstone, is Baumit’s UK centre of excellence. As well as offering the very best in technical and sales support, the operation includes a 15,000ft2 warehouse where every shade within Baumit’s 888-colour programme is available to add to its entire range of mineral and synthetic topcoats, helping create a unique aesthetic for any building.Unlike its European competitors who import tinted products, resulting in lead times of up to two weeks, Baumit’s in-house production means - depending on order size - a high-weather resistant, vapour-permeable topcoat range can be coloured in just two hours.

Ben Warren, Managing Director at Baumit Ltd said: “Our Aylesford site means we are able to deliver a more service-orientated operation. It’s enabled us to ‘break down the bulk’, meaning we can cater for any order of any size – customers no longer need to buy in bulk.”

Although the range of Baumit’s topcoat systems varies in texture, tone and technology, each has a common denominator – it is designed to protect and improve a building’s façade. A recent addition to its external wall insulation range, NanoporTop is an innovative self-cleaning, stain and pollution-resistant, ready-to-use render that uses Baumit ‘photokat’ photocatalysis technology to create optimum protection against contamination using the power of light.Baumit stands for: innovation, safety, partnerships, and trust in building. Its external wall insulation systems are BBA-certified. The company is also certified EN ISO 90001 for Quality Management Systems.

Ben Warren added: “Baumit is helping change the way people think about the external envelope of their building. The Aylesford operation will enable us to deliver that message even more affectively across the UK. It presents an immense opportunity for Baumit and our customers.” For more information why not contact us here.
